BEAVER CREEK VINEYARDS

In 2007, Martin Pohl and his then partners discovered Horne Ranch, the home of Beaver Creek Vineyards. Their vision for a sustainable, organic, and biodynamic vineyards and winery was a symbiotic fit for the natural beauty and bounty of Horne Ranch. After careful planning and impeccable execution, the existing vineyards were meticulously converted to organic and biodynamic farming practices. The CCOF certification was received in 2009 and in 2010 the Demeter Biodynamic certification followed. As part of the Biodynamic practices Beaver Creek became home to a herd of sheep that grazed and fertilized the vineyards. Over the years a donkey, a lama, and alpaca, chickens, bees, olives trees, walnut trees, and gardens all contributed to the biodiversity of the land at Beaver Creek. In 2012, Martin Pohl became the sole grape grower and vintner and in 2021 the sole proprietor.

Originally from the Czech Republic, Martin brings old world techniques to modern day wine making. His passion and dedication to organic and biodynamic living are embodied in his farming and winemaking. Martin is devoted to regenerative agriculture and caring for the environment while creating a wine that is healthy and high vibrational.  In 2022 Martin and his wife/business partner, Tara, left the land of Beaver Creek Vineyards. They remain in Lake County and continue crafting Beaver Creek and Martin Pohl Wines with a tasting room in the heart of Middletown and a winery just minutes away.

MARTIN POHL WINES

The energetic spiral of Martin Pohl Wines is inspired by the dynamization process of activating Biodynamic preparations. What it represents is the infinite connection between all things in the Universe. Our wine honors a commitment to be in harmony with Mother Nature. We maintain a symbiotic relationship with the entire ecosystem of the land we farm. From the vine to the bottle, all of our practices are of the highest integrity.

At Martin Pohl Wines it is our mission to create a wine that has been carefully curated from the farming and cellar practices to the bottle. We are committed to educate people about the differences in organic and biodynamic farming and winemaking and how it contributes to a healthy environment and a healthy lifestyle. We are dedicated to working with vineyards that are certified organic or biodynamic and committed to regenerative agriculture.
